The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the most storied franchises in the National Basketball Association, with some of the sport’s most decorated athletes having represented the club, including Hall of Famers Charles Barkley, Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving and Allen Iverson, among several other all-time greats. The New Jersey Devils are part of the 32-team National Hockey League, with teams throughout the United States and Canada. Established in 1982, they are entering their 40th year in the Garden State. During that time, the team has won three Stanley Cup Championships: 1995, 2000 and 2003, and also went to the Stanley Cup Final in 2001 and 2012. In that period, the Devils have retired the numbers of five players: Scott Stevens, Ken Daneyko, Scott Niedermayer, Martin Brodeur and Patrik Elias. UTICA COMETS
The Utica Comets became the New Jersey Devils American Hockey League (AHL) franchise on May 6, 2021 following approval of the AHL’s Board of Governors for relocation of their franchise to Utica, N.Y., effective starting with the 2021-22 season.
New Jersey partnered with a local operating group, Mohawk Valley Garden, led by Comets President Robert Esche on a ten-year partnership, which established a mutual commitment between the organization and the city of Utica. The Utica Comets organization has a rich history not only in the NHL but also in the community that has evolved over the past ten years. One of the top markets in the AHL, Utica focuses on creating new memories for the fans, as the next generation of Devils’ stars develop their professional careers at Adirondack Bank Center.
